PAC NW BAKER SHOOTOUT

champs Greg Richards, Robby Davidson, Anthony Douglas, Austin Gretzer, & Jason Williams

A team with a ton of talent- but no name! - outlasted a tough field in the fun and exciting Pac NW Baker Shootout, hosted by Seattle's Roxbury Lanes.

After 12 Baker team games, the top 12 teams advanced to best 2 out of 3 matchplay.  The top 4 teams received a one-round bye, but it proved to be a mixed blessing at best, as amazingly all 4 of them were eliminated in the round of eight, leaving the #5 seeded team pictured above as the highest remaining seed heading into the semifinals!

In the semifinal matches, Anthony Douglas' unnamed team swept the much more creatively named # 7 seed "Sugar Grampies" 2-0, while #6 seeded "Crashing Scooters" edged #9 "Awesome Wonder Wizards" 2-1 to set up the title match.

The Scooters may have had the edge on paper in the title match, as the team comprised of 5 of the most successful bowlers in Pac NW JBT Conference history, but Baker is all about team bowling and chemistry, and after a 204-184 game one win, Douglas' team wrapped it up with a 217-207 game two win for the title.  It was the first JBT title for under-22 bowlers Douglas, Austin Gretzer, and Robby Davidson, who were helped by Greg Richards and Jason Williams, two big names in adult bowling in the area.

Thanks as always to Roxbury for hosting us, and to all the alumni and adults who bowled with today's JBT bowlers all weekend long.  Over $1,100 in scholarships were awarded, and if you want in on all this fun, check out our schedule and be at the next JBT event, it's that simple!
