BRC Premier

champs Travis Hewitt & Jacob Camacho; Womens Series champ Valerie Riggin

Travis Hewitt and Jacob Camacho began 2011 in fine style with victories in exciting JBT Southern California Conference action at Chula Vista's BRC Premier Lanes.

18-time JBT champ Cameron Smith began another climb up the scratch division stepladder finals with a 218-198 victory over Mark Curtis.  Smith then beat Steven Manier 235-215, and followed with a 255-184 win over Washington state's Tanner Spacey to advance to the title match.

Top seed Hewitt rolled a fantastic 793 semifinal set to charge into the lead, and followed that up with a confident title match performance, resulting in a 226-202 win and his first career JBT title.

Camacho won four matches en route to his second career JBT title.  He started things off with a 219-189 win over Shauna Schultz.  Jacob then beat Luke Holley 177-165, and followed that up with a 237-206 win over early-round leader Jamie Spector to climb to the title match.

Top seed Kristian Lusterio had been on fire all day long, but struggled a bit on the championship pair.  Camacho's pace slowed a little as well, but he still had enough left for the 197-181 win and the championship.

Valerie Riggin earned her first JBT Women's Series title with a 196-190 win over top seed Jamie Spector.  Spector had the early lead but a late double from Riggin turned the tide in her favor.  Valerie now has a shot at the $500 bonus at the JBT Girls Invitational this summer.
