BIG ROCK BOWLING CENTER

champs Joe Lewandowski & Jonah Seawright

Four was the lucky number at Big Rock Casino, as Joe Lewandowski and Jonah Seawright racked up their fourth career JBT titles in exciting New Mexico-Texas Conference action.

Bowlers competed in the stress-inducing 'survivor' format, where the low bowler on each pair is eliminated until only one remains.  Eighteen scratch survivors were cut down to three eventually.  In that game, Joe Lewandowski exploded for a 290 game, the tournament's high, while Cameron Smith's 211 was also good enough to advance, and Mason Edmondson bowed out in third with 185.

Joe created a great look for himself on the lanes and was throwing great shots as well, and both continued through the finals, as he rolled past Smith 249-138 in the title match (that's 539 for the last two!) for his fourth career victory.

Twenty handicap survivors were whittled down to four, and in those matchups, Jonah Seawright rolled past Allie May 176, while Sophie Diaz ousted John Ellis 242-204.  Both Sophie and Jonah had identical handicaps, so it was essentially a scratch title match.  The game turned out to be all Seawright, as he defeated Diaz 240-178 for the win.  Every JBT win is big, but this was a huge leap for Jonah in the Bowler of the Year race, as he vaults back into the lead with three events to go.

Wendy Shelton qualified for the 2012 Girls TPC with a 213-188 win over Priscilla Red, her third Impact Bowling JBT Women's Series win of the season.

Thanks as always to the crew at Big Rock for a great job hosting our Tour. Over $1,500 in scholarships were earned by bowlers of all averages and ages- want in on the fun? Just check out our schedule and come on down, it's as simple as that!
