CANOGA PARK BOWL

champs Kyle King & Shauna Schultz

Kyle King and Shauna Schultz wrapped up an exciting and exhausting weekend at Canoga Park Bowl with singles wins on a Sunday morning in the JBT Southern California Conference.

Jericho Eusebio opened the handicap division stepladder finals with a 214-208 win over Kyli Selley.  Nevada's Donovan Koff then beat Eusebio 189-179.  Schultz then dispatched Koff 189-182 to reach the title game.

Top seed Clint Strawmyer had the best event of his JBT career en route to the #1 spot, but the veteran Schultz was too good in the title match, sparing in the tenth to shut out Clint and eventually win the game 189-173.  The title was the second of her JBT career.

Oscar Chan, having a breakout season, won a rolloff against Steven Manier to get into the finals, and then beat Riley Dempsey in round one 211-201.  Kyle King then stopped Chan 223-191, and followed with a 187-158 win over Justin Sims to reach yet aother championship game.

Top seed Cameron Smith and King had the two best individual overall performances of this weekend that included doubles, team, and singles, so it was appropriate that they meet for the singles title.  With over 80 titles between them, it was one of our most veteran matches also.  This one would go to King, winning the match 224-206 for the 56th title of his amazing JBT career.

Ashley Dunn won her first JBT Women's Series title of the season with a 192-174 triumph over Valerie Riggin.  Ashley needs three wins to qualify for the 2012 Girls TPC this summer.

Thanks to Canoga Park Bowl for hosting this tripleheader weekend, which awarded well over $5,000 in scholarships to bowlers of all ages and averages.  Want in on the fun?  Come on down to the next JBT event, it can't be much simpler!
