PAC NW DOUBLES CLASSIC
champs Jared McNeal & Jordan Yoke, and Andy Herrmann & Dan Rawsthorne
Teams from Southern and Northern Washington captured titles in the JBT Pacific Northwest Doubles Classic, hosted by Hiline Lanes.
Brandon Dunson and Corey Del Fierro opened up the scratch division baker-format stepladder finals with a 204-158 win over Anthony Douglas and Josh Jackson. Brandon and Corey rolled past early leaders Matt Lewis and Matt Ramshaw 233-173. The semifinal was a squeaker, with Dunson and Del Fierro edging Quinton Miller and his father, PBA star Hugh, 205-203. Quinton had shown his dad how to do it in game six, firing a 298, the high 'junior' game of the day.
Top seeded Jared McNeal and Jordan Yoke had taken over in the semifinals to grab the #1 position. They stayed in control in the title match as well, stopping the ladder-climbing Dunson / Del Fierro combo 206-186 for the championship. It was the 3rd win of McNeal's JBT career, and Yoke's fourth.
The junior-junior combo of Robert Altieri and Khlaid Lucas opened the handicap division stepladder finals with a 213-210 thriller over Kyle and Zane Hays. Khalid and Robert then got past Sam Neves and Becky Davidson 234-200. In the semifinals, Jake Mullen and Lucas Stoe stopped Altieri and Lucas 219-202 to reach the title game. JBT alum Stone had torched the lanes earlier for 300-802, by far leading all bowlers on the Beaten Path pattern.
Top seeds Andy Herrmann and Dan Rawsthorne had taken the lead away from Lucas and Jake in game six, and in a close game, were able to squeeze out a 186-182 win for the title. It's the second win of Andy's career, and first of Dan's, who beat his talented daughter Catherine into the JBT winner's circle!
Thanks to all the adults and JBT alumni who took the time to bowl with today's JBT bowlers, as well as Pat Johns and the Hiline team for hosting the tournament.
