PARK BOWL

champs Becky Davidson & Perry Crowell IV

Perry Crowell IV and Becky Davidson took different but equally successful routes to victory, earning JBT titles at Park Bowl in exciting Pacific Northwest Conference action.

Crowell, home on spring break from Robert Morris, just squeezed into the semifinals, then fired a big set to just squeeze into the finals.  He then proceeded to roll one of the strangest winning games in scratch stepladder history, throwing a 1-count on a turkey and then a 3-count on the fill ball, all to win by one pin, 178-177, over Tyler Boe.   Perry then somehow escaped from Josh Mullen win Josh left a crucial 4-7-8 on a double.  Crowell then had an easy 216-149 win over Nick Bachteler to reach the title match.

Top seed Michael Paulson was leading a JBT event into the finals for the first time, but couldn't find the same look he had earlier in the title game.  Perry wasn't locked in either, but had enough for the 193-166 win, good for the seventh- and most circuitous- championship of his JBT career.

Samm Cosby has been doing well in points despite having not made a finals, but she erased that by qualifying fifth here, then won her first stepladder match 203-189 over Jonathan Oriza.  David Scott then beat Cosby 233-217, and followed with a 195-168 win over Kelsey Abrahamsen to reach the title game.

Unlike Crowell, Becky Davidson led her division heading into the finals, and the JBT veteran handled Scott in the title match 240-217, finally earning her first career JBT title.

Correen Lieber beat Kjerstin Richards 176-159 to win the day's Impact Bowling Women's Series match, qualifying her for the 2012 Girls TPC this summer.

Thanks to the crew at Park Bowl for hosting a JBT event for the first time!  Over $1,200 in scholarships were earned by bowlers of all averages and ages- want in on the fun? Come on out to the next JBT event, it's that simple!
