ANTELOPE LANES
champs Curtis Lindeman & Chris Rouse
Curtis Lindeman and Chris Rouse picked up JBT titles in exciting Arizona Conference action at Prescott Valley's Antelope Lanes.
Eric Hatchett, who earlier fired the only 300 game of the event, began the scratch division by squeaking out a 192-190 win over Riley Dempsey. The next match was even closer, as he and Derek Acuff fought to a 234 tie. Acuff won the rolloff 10-6 to advance, and then got by "the silent assassin", Danny Cobine, 223-203, to advance to the title game.
It was all about strikes today, and top seed Curtis Lindeman bullied the pins around all day, leading at +398 for eight games. He remained in control against a suddenly struggling Acuff, winning the match 217-177, good for the fifth title of Lindeman's JBT career.
Nathan Johnson began the handicap stepladder finals with a 213-202 comeback win over Kristen Lee. Johnson then defeated another Tucsonan, Jerod Walker, 187-164, before Rouse stopped Johnson 238-203 to move on to the title game.
Top seed Patrick Bailey, a U of A student from the Chicago area, looked great all day en route to the number one spot, but home-house bowler Rouse had a great look in the title game, outstriking Bailey by a 266-245 final to earn his first career JBT title.
Shelby Dempsey earned her first Women's Series crown with a 180-171 win over Sophie Diaz. She needs two more wins to lock in her spot at the Girls TPC this summer.
Andrew Dorsey won a Carls Jr. gift card donated by Arizona Inn, our host hotel- big thanks to them! Thanks also to the crew at Antelope for hosting our event. Want in on the most exciting under-22 tournaments around? Just check out our schedule and come on down, it's that simple!
