        Mason Edmondson and Barrett Meigs were the 'super-survivors' of the day, capturing JBT titles in exciting New Mexico-Texas Conference action at Holiday Bowl.

        In super-survivor, three bowlers are eliminated each round- the lowest game, and the two lowest overall pinfall totals, creating a challenging hybrid of a total pinfall tournament and our do-or-die survivor format.  This was quickly evident in the handicap division, where Kelly McNeil dominated the qualifying round (she would have made the scratch cut by almost 100 pins), but met a quick and painful end in round three with a low game elimination.  Eventually 18 handicap survivors were cut down to three, and in that game, Barrett Meigs' 222 led the scoring, while Jacob Lang also advanced to the finals by one pin, with his 188 just edging Amber Eddington's 187.

        Both Barrett and Jacob had been unstoppable through the survivor rounds, but in the title game Lang lost the look he had been loving, leaving him longing for that first JBT win.  Meigs was able to cruise 197-162 to the win, the first championship of his JBT career.

        The scratch division found the 'Montreal' lane pattern to be very challenging, with under a 174 average enough to make the cut to the survivor rounds.  Eighteen bowlers were also whittled down to three, and in that penultimate game, birthday boy Riley Dempsey bowed out with 196, while Chris Brown (202) and Mason Edmondson (226) advanced to the title game.

        The title match was well bowled by both players, but needing 16 pins in the tenth to win, Mason threw a perfect strike on the first ball, sealing a 219-214 win, and the third title of his JBT career.

        McNeil got some revenge in the Impact Bowling JBT Women's Series, beating Adel Wahner 169-156 for the Women's title, the first of three she needs to get to the 2013 Girls TPC this summer.
