        Josh Helmick and Zach Harvey captured JBT titles in exciting action at Albuquerque's Silva Lanes.

        Danny Cobine opened the scratch division stepladder finals with a 196-179 win over Ahkeen Williams.  William Yoder then took over, beating Cobine 244-214, and following with a 10-9 overtime win against Cortez Schenck, after they had tied at 202.

        Top seed Helmick had his career best JBT performance, taking over in round two and cruising to the #1 spot.  However, the title match was a grind, and when Yoder opened in the tenth frame, Helmick had a chance to strike out in his tenth for the win.  After getting the first two strikes on the demanding condition, Josh got the break of his career when a runaway brooklyn carried, giving him the 185-184 win and his 2nd career (but first singles) JBT title.

        Jacob Lang, who had led most of the event, fell a bit but still reached the stepladder, then opened it with a 235-203 win over Noah Martinez.  Zach Harvey then beat Jacob 210-199, and then got by Lang's sister, Martha, in a 255-178 semifinal win to advance to the title game.

        Top seed Lauren Jaramillo had an excellent day and grabbed the lead in the semifinals, but could not find the same magic in the title game.   Harvey defeated her 235-206, good for the second title of his JBT career.

        For the first time ever, the Women's Series title match ended in a tie, as Bree Vargas and Kelly McNeil struggled to a 149 deadlock.  Vargas won the rolloff 10-8 to earn her third Women's title of the season, guaranteeing her spot in the Girls TPC this summer.
