       It's no surprise that Jakob Butturff out-struck a high-scoring field at the spectacular Uptown Alley to capture his 9th career JBT title in exciting scratch-only Arizona Conference action in Surprise.

        Shane Valleau, who earlier tossed a 289 game, opened up the stepladder finals with a 227-200 win over Jake Bryan, who was making his first scratch finals.  Next up was another first-time scratch finalist, Carter O'Neal, and their match came down to the wire, with O'Neal escaping 215-214 to advance.  Curtis Lindeman then put on an eleven-strike clinic in a 278-225 win over O'Neal to advance to the title match,

        Top seed Butturff fired a 299 game in qualifying to help seize a lead he never let go of.  He began the title match with the front seven, but an eighth frame disastrous 5-1 count gave Lindeman an unexpected second chance.  Unfortunately for Curtis, he couldn't get another string going, and Jakob survived his error with a 237-217 win.  The ninth win moves him up into the top 30 in all-time titles in his still-young JBT career.

        Savannah Carr and Cierra Chamot, who both made the main cut, squared off in the Impact Bowling Women's Series match, with Chamot claiming the 194-180 win.  She needs two more wins to qualify for the Girls TPC this summer.
