        Two talented teams picked up JBT titles in exciting action at Montclair's Bowlium, in the JBT Southern California Conference Doubles Classic.

        The Arizona combo of Samantha Sellers and Bex Boyko opened the handicap division Baker-format stepladder finals with a 171-168 win over Katelyn and Jozef Corwin.  That match was close, but the next match was three pins closer, and Sam and Bex tied Brooke and KJ Martinez at 173, with KJ and Brooke winning the tiebreaker 26-18 to advance.  Cameron Peck and Samantha Lorenz then stopped the Martinez siblings 204-183 to move on to the title game.

        Top seeds Kylie Shishima and Chase Jamar bowled great all day, but Peck, returned from a long hiatus, and newcomer Lorenz, hung in there the whole time, eventually coming out with the 212-186 win and the tournament title.

        The scratch division stepladder finals began with Cameron Smith and Austin Thompson squeezing out a 200-196 win over Russ Oviatt and Aaron Yamamoto.   Wesley Low and Josh Tajiri then beat Smith and Thompson 214-176.  Acuff and Duster then stopped Wesley and Josh 203-175 to move on to the title match.

        Top seeds Jakob Butturff and Ben Canfield are two of the most dominant bowlers in JBT singles action, and proved to be just as potent as a doubles combo.  The title match got tense at the end, and late opens from Jakob and Ben helped Derek and Kyle pull away and earn the title, the 19th and fourth of their respective JBT careers.
