        Ben Canfield just keeps winning, while Max Polhill finally joined his brother in the JBT winner's circle, in exciting Arizona Conference action at Deer Valley Lanes.

        After five games, surviving bowlers advanced to best 2-of-3 matchplay.  Canfield qualified as the top seed, but was in big trouble after #9 Jakob Butturff fired 257 at him in the first game of their match.  All Ben did was respond with 277-278 for the next two games to eliminate Butturff, and after then defeating Aaron Yamamoto, advancing to the title match.  In the other side of the bracket, Cortez Schenck and Tim Jacob both swept their quarterfinal matches 2-0, and Tim won the resulting semifinal 244-225 to reach the title game.

        In the title match, Jacob rolled a fine 231, but Canfield was just relentless with the strikes, firing a 261 to overcome Jacob and earn the title.  It's the 15th win of his JBT career, as he continues  red-hot season.

        Celeste Valdez earned the top seed for handicap matchplay, but was upended by #16 Kyle Lawrence in round one.  #2 Jerod Walker fared no better, as #15 Alexis Atkin also pulled the upset.  Both won their next matches too, but their runs ended there, as Polhill stopped Lawrence 214-188, and Rachael Berg defeated Atkin 215-205 to set up the title match.

        Both Rachael and Max have been close to titles before, and in this match, Max pulled ahead for the 215-181 win, joining his little brother Sebastian as JBT titlists.

        Valdez was able to get vengeance in the day's Women's Series event, as she defeated Candace Gardner 168-150 to earn her first Women's Series crown.
