AMF FIREBIRD
champs Tanner Spacey & Nickolas Perini
Tanner Spacey and Nickolas Perini captured JBT titles in exciting Pacific Northwest Conference action at Salem's AMF Firebird Lanes.
Kyler Crevier made his first finals of the season a success with a 209-203 win over Josh Mullen to begin a climb up the scratch division stepladder. Mullen took over the points lead with yet another top five finish, though. Crevier then beat another new face to the scratch finals, Tommie McNeal, 243-190. Kyler kept up the big scores on the tough Mexico City pattern, beating Daniel Hanson 246-182 to advance to the title match.
Top seed Tanner Spacey has his work cut out for him to climb into the points race, having missed the first part of the season on a visit to Europe. He's off to a great start, though, having won in Tacoma two weeks ago and then leading this event. Crevier's career best day came to an end here, as Spacey stayed in control for a 226-184 win, earning his sixth career JBT title.
In a battle of two perennial handicap finalists, Kelsey Abrahamsen slipped by Nick Bruketta 181-177 to begin the stepladder finals. Riley Basher then defeated Abrahamsen 207-194. Nckolas Perini then turned the tables on Basher with a 219-201 victory to advance to the title game.
Top seed Nikita Benton bowled terrific all day and was looking to add another title to her collection, but Perini was not to be stopped, winning the title game 219-197, for the first championship of his JBT career.
Abrahamsen finished off her fine day with a 202-192 win over Wylicia Faley to capture the day's Women's Series event, her first of the season.
