KENT BOWL
champs Luke Jordan & Johnny Leggett
Johnny Leggett remained on a big-time roll, while Luke Jordan pinned down another win, in exciting JBT Pacific Northwest Conference action at Kent Bowl.
Bowlers were tested by the 'pick your poison' format, where after the 5-game cut, higher seeded bowlers have their choice of who they want to bowl. Top seed Nick Devlin got past Kyler Crevier in round one, but didn't have the antidote for Quinton Miller, who ousted Nick and followed with a win over Brian Monnette to reach the title match. Jordan, meanwhile, got past Daniel Hanson and Tyler Boe to also reach the finals.
It was an odd matchup for the title, since Quinton hadn't thrown a ball since the Kellogg JBT weekend, and Luke has been busy with his successful wrestling career, Both managed to bowl very well all day though, and in the finale it was Luke coming out on top fpr the win and the 5th title of his JBT career.
Jerry Jennings grabbed the top seed after qualifying, and did well picking his poison early, defeating Armando Moser-Hernandez and Hayden Childs, but he fell to Nikita Benton in the semifinals. Hayden's brother Holden got to the other semifinal, but Leggett was too much there, winning that game to set up the title match.
Benton has made a few title matches since her last win, but Johnny has been making nothing but top-6 finishes lately, storming into the points lead with the burst. He was able to finish this one off, defeating Benton for the title, the third of his JBT career.
Shannon Bliquez won her first Women's Series event, defeating top seed Kelsey Abrahamsen for the day's honors.
