champs Kyle Duster & Collin Deppe

        Kyle Duster and Collin Deppe earned JBT titles in exciting Mojave Conference action at Sunset Station's Strike Zone.

        Dallas Leong opened the scratch division stepladder finals with an exciting 225-223 victory over Nick Pollak.  Harley Sweigart then defeated Leong 225-210.  Harley revved it up in the next match with a 258-195 win over the Mojave Menace, Eric Hatchett, to advance to the title game.

        Top seed Duster started the day in style with a 299 first game.  He lost the led temporarily to Hatchett, but regained it with a strong semifinal set.  He as just as strong in the title match, beating Sweigart 238-213, good for the fifth title of his JBT career.

        Teagan Smale, fresh off a high school team state championship, began the handicap division stepladder finals with a 239-171 win over April McDonnell.  Deppe then took over, defeating Smale 233-219, and following with a 226-225 thriller over Brendan Lindsey to advance to the title game.

        Top seed Joe Gerencser returned from high-school induced hiatus in a big way, leading the tournament most of the day.  However, Deppe filled frame after frame with marks, and a tenth frame split proved to be inconsequential, as Collin cruised to a 238-214 win, and his first career JBT title.

        Janelle Takahata won her first career Women's Series event with a 213-150 win over Randi Speiler.
