        Joey Balistreri and Quirino Sanchez claimed JBT victories in our final visit to the historic SkidZ, in exciting New Mexico-Texas Conference action.

        After the five game qualifying round, bowlers competed in head to head matchplay.  In the scratch division semifinals, Balistreri stopped Curtis Lindeman 211-197, while Josh Helmick blew past William Yoder 247-152 to set up the title match.

        Yoder has been on fire all year, while Joey has been trying to get over the hump in the nervewracking environment of the finals.  This time, though, Balistreri came up with the goods, defeating Yoder 210-188 to earn his first career scratch JBT title to go with a previous handicap division win.

        Sanchez has been bowling well ever since a win at the New Mexico Open in July, and showed no signs of stopping here.  He defeated his semifinal opponent, newcomer Trevor Hicks, 218-193 to advance to the title match.  The opposite semifinal was a high scoring thriller, as Noah Martinez, another bowler piling up great stats, beat Montana Cdebaca 253-234, to set up a title match between the two veterans.

        The final was close the whole way through, but in the end Quirino defeated Noah 224-221 to earn the third title of his JBT career.

        The new hotbed of women's bowling on the west side of the country might just well be Las Cruces, as Vanessa Romero and Adel Wahner reached the title match of the day's girls event.  This time it was rising star Vanessa winning the title game 194-184 for the day's girls' crown.
