champs Trey Sledge & Vanessa Romero with girls' champ Adel Wahner

        Trey Sledge and Vanessa Romero each doubled their JBT title collections in exciting New Mexico-Texas Conference action at Amarillo's Western Bowl.

        Adel Wahner, making her second straight top five in the main tournament, fell in one semifinal match to Sledge 231-159, and Angel Ortega, also making the top five both days, stopped Levi Fintel 212-193, to set up the title match.  Sledge, who has had his share of second place finishes, wasn't about to let that happen, beating Ortega 217-201, earning the second title of his JBT career.

        Romero, who qualified as the #15 seed for matchplay, had no problem with #3 Nick Sanchez in one handicap semifinal, winning 241-170.  The other match featured the always entertaining 'significant other' scenario, as Jonah Seawright beat Taylor Herson 206-191.   In the ensuing finale, Romero came up with a 230 scratch game to beat Seawright 252-209, also earning her title #2 of her JBT career.

        Wahner's excellent weekend continued with a 192-172 win over Krysta Carlisle, also enjoying a great weekend with a handicap win the day before, to earn the day's Women's Series title.
