ANTELOPE LANES

champs Cortez Schenck, Kaylee Am-Khong, and Ryan Perry

A high scoring Easter holiday event saw three champs emerge in exciting JBT Arizona Conference action at Prescott Valley's Antelope Lanes.

Zack Long, who earlier fired his first career JBT 300 game, threw another big game to open the scratch division finals with a 269-202 win over Cristian Roque, who was making back to back finals appearances.  Solomon Salama made his trek from California a success with a 203-195 win over Long.  Keith Fung then came in and stopped Salama 249-162 to get a chance to defend the title he won here last season.

Top seed Cortez Schenck was back at it again with those big scores, also firing a 300 game on the day (in the same game and on the same pair as his buddy Sergio Torres) en route to another huge 8-game total.  Fung struggled through a tough second half of the title game, and the result was a 235-181 win for Schenck, good for the 73rd title of his JBT career.

Amanda Atkin, another past champ at Antelope, opened the handicap division stepladder final with a tenth frame double to beat Kyle Gilbert 221-212.  Previous day's champ Nolan Am-Khong then stopped Atkin 248-214.  Kyle Rendon then turned the tables on Nolan with a 216-209 win to advance to the title match.

Top seed Ryan Perry has struggled since some early season success, but turned it all around here with a wire-to-wire lead.  The title match proved to be a struggle for both bowlers, but in the end Ryan had just enough for a 193-182 win over Rendon, earning Perry his first career JBT title.

Nolan's sister Kaylee Am-Khong has had some hard luck in girls' title matches, but it was smooth sailing for her this time, as she beat Adel Wahner 221-210 for the day's girls' title.

Well over $500 in extra prizes were given out in our annual 'easter egg hunt', including a bonus Ebonite bowling ball, free entries, easter baskets, and Adel's prized travel-size Simon game.

Thanks as always to Antelope for being great hosts. All this fun is open to all ages and averages- just check out our schedule and come on down!
