        Elijah Melchor remained unbeatable in stepladders, while Kyle Duster was unbeatable on the day, in exciting Arizona Conference action at Glenfair Lanes in Glendale.

        Steven Acuff put on an impressive show in the scratch division stepladder, beginning with a 268-161 win over Eric Hatchett.  Acuff then beat Matt Zweig 221-202, and followed with a close 215-204 win over Cortez Schenck to reach the title game.

        Duster had no problem with the Route 66 lane pattern, going +411 to grab the top seed.  He stopped Acuff's great day with a 245-199 title match win to earn the 14th title of his JBT career.

        Destiny Johnson was equally impressive going up the handicap stepladder, starting with a 241-187 win over Ryan Zent, who was making his third straight finals appearance.  Johnson then doubled in the tenth frame to beat Tim Hill 228-219.  Justin Lawrence then came up with 257 in the semifinal match, but even that wasn't enough as Destiny fired the high game of her career in a 284-257 win.

        Elijah Melchor earned the top seed for the stepladder, a reverse from his previous two appearances when he climbed up the ladder from the first match.  The change of pace didn't slow down Elijah one bit, as he halted Johnson's fine run with a  229-181 win to earn back to back titles, totalling four for his career, and his ninth consecutive stepladder match win- wow!

        Adel Wahner made a one day visit to Arizona pay off with a 211-160 win over Amanda Atkin for the day's girls title, moving to within 15 points of Atkin for the all-conference girls points lead.
