AMF McRAY

champs Joey Balistreri & Lucas Rabb

Two bowlers earned career firsts in exciting JBT Arizona Conference action at Chandler's McRay Lanes.

Zach Rapp, bowling much better lately, began the stepladder finals of the scratch division with a 203-177 win over all-time titles leader Cortez Schenck.  Rapp then defeated 16-time champ Eric Hatchett 203-181.  In a lower scoring semifinal, Joey Balistreri stopped Rapp 186-168 to move on to the title match.

Top seed Keith Fung is also getting hot as we head into the big money time of the season, but he couldn't get locked in on teh championship pair.  Balistreri took advantage for a 218-206 win, which was his third career JBT title, but more importantly a long awaited first scratch singles win.

Phillip Sauve opened the handicap division stepladder finals with a 204-180 win over first time finalist Seth Krich.  Lucas Rabb then took over, stopping Phillip 218-174.  He then completed a Sauve sweep by beating Phillip's brother Mark in a good 221-213 battle.

Ryan Perry broke out of a long slump with a win at Antelope, and kept the great bowling going here en route to the top seed.  He and Rabb engaged in a great match on a tough pattern, but in the end Lucas squeezed out a 225-219 victory, good for Rabb's first career JBT title.

The finish of the day, though, came in the girls title match, where Adel Wahner and Rachael Berg played for the second straight day.  Neither talented lady could get anything going at all though, and Berg must have felt comfortable finishing at 158 and making Adel triple in the tenth just to tie.  Amazingly, Wahner did just that, forcing a one-ball rolloff, where Rachael regrouped for a 10-9 win, and an exciting sweep of the weekend's girls events.

Thanks the team at McRay for hosting our Tour, as well all the volunteers helping Jerod run a smooth event.  Want in on the most fun and action around?  Just check out the JBT schedule and come on down!
