PAC NW DOUBLES CLASSIC

        A jam-packed field on a true grind-out condition saw two tough teams emerge victorious in exciting action at the JBT Pac NW Doubles event, hosted by Hiline Lanes in Burien.

        Tanner Spacey and Cindy Mattingly opened the scratch division stepladder finals with a 223-221 thriller over Brian Monnette and Kai Pedro.   Tyler Hogstrom and Jodey Rees then beat Spacey and Mattingly 233-204.  In another nailbiter, Cortez Schenck and Mike Calderon edged Rees and Hogstrom 224-223 to advance to the title match.

        Schenck is closing in on the all-time JBT titles record and would love to sneak in a win up north, but top-seeded brothers Kolby and Perry Crowell IV had something to say about that.  On the virtually flat Bear pattern (chosen by Collins Davis as part of the 'Golden Ticket' he won at TPC), doubles were hard to catch in the alternate-frame Baker format, but in the end the Crowells scratched out a 202-191 victory and a hard earned title.

        Hannah Saunders and Blake Kugel began the handicap division finals with a 206-193 win over Olivia Kolppa and Carl Nichols.  Hannah and Blake then rolled past Candice Goldfinch and Amanda Burton 236-142.  Ryan DeFazio and Ashley Johnson then halted Saunders and Kugel 188-164 to advance to the title game.

        JBT veteran Jonathan Bautista and newcomer Dyana Perkins made a great team all day, and kept up the momentum with a 218-170 win over DeFazio and Johnson in the title match, each earning the first titles of their JBT career.
