VISTA ENTERTAINMENT CENTER

champs Cortez Schenck & Ryland Pimentel

Cortez Schenck swept the weekend, while Ryland Pimentel won his first, in exciting JBT Southern California Conference action at Vista Entertainment Center.

Matthew Green made his first scratch division finals appearance a success with a 216-185 win over Joe Grondin.  Eric Hatchett then doubled in the tenth (after Green did the same) to defeat Matt 237-234.  Eric faced Cortez Schenck for the fourth time in as many So Cal singles events, and for the third straight time it was Tez on top, this time 246-205 to advance to the title match.

Trevor Thompson made a leap forward in his JBT career by firing 771 in the semis to gain the top seed for the first time.  He faced a runaway train in Cortez though, as Shenck won the match 267-203 for the 66th title of his JBT career.  All he did was shoot 545 for his two title match wins on the weekend- wow!

Alberto Bernal, also a rookie in the finals, came up with a big game in round one of the handicap stepladder to beat Ryan Galland 258-193.  The scores only went up from there, as Zach Greim knocked off Bernal 287-217, only to have the tables turned on him by Ryan Langenhorst, who eliminated Greim 280-236 to advance to the title game,

10 year-old Ryan Pimentel was fantastic all day in gaining the top seed, and was just as good in the final, defeating Kangenhorst in a high scoring 263-242 match for his first JBT title.

Renee Gentry and Kaylee Am-Khong engaged in a thriller for the day's girls title, with Renee getting the 18 pins in the tenth she needed for a 199-198 win.  Ryan Lee had the individual highlight of the day with a perfect 300 game in qualifying.
