Cerell Cardines and Ryan Perry are at the top of their individual standings, and together they made an unstoppable combo, caprturing titles in 'mix it up' action at Cerbat Lanes in Kingman.
After qualifying, scratch and handicap bowlers were paired up to form doubles teams in one of our most popular formats. Cerell and Ryan began their climb up the stepladder with a 233-163 win over Zack Long and Ryan's brother Kyle Perry. They then got past the Arizona combo of Cristian Roque and Clifford Robbins 204-190, and followed with a 234-226 win over Austin Muldoon and David Jepsen to reach the title game.
Top seeds Harley Sweigart and Kyle Rendon squashed the field, building up an enormous lead in the semifinals. However, a few bad breaks in the title match turned their great day a bit sour, as Cardines and Perry finished off the ladder climb with a 256-221 win over Harley and Kyle for the championship.
Dominic Olivares won his first U17 event with a big 266-191 win over Cardines, while Leah Orlando won a grindout 152-149 over April McDonnell for the day's Girls Scratch win.
