NARROWS PLAZA BOWL
champs Nick Devlin & Colt Jance with U17 and Girls winners Jerry Jennings & Reagan Lorey
Nick Devlin piled on to his impressive title total, while Colt Jance broke through for his first win, in exciting JBT Pacific Northwest Conference action at Narrows Plaza Bowl.
Brian Monnette made a guest appearance and rolled to the top seed, giving him first choice in the 'pick your poison' matchplay portion. He got by Andy Herrmann, but Jerry Jennings proved to be his kryptonite in a 2227-184 semifinal win for Jerry, moving him on to the final. His opponent would be Nick Devlin, who got past Tyler Boe 205-194 in the other semifinal. In the championship game, it was Devlin who was able to string the strikes in a 247-208 win over Jennings, good for the 19th title of the Oregon native's career, but first in the Northwest since living in Arizona to attend ASU.
Jance had to get through three rounds of pick your poison to get to the final game, and he did so with wins over Jonathan Lorey, Paul Rosales, and Lilly Ellis with a big 286 in the semifinal. Veteran Bailey Peters also eliminated three opponents in a row- Sienna Stoner, previous day's champ Brendan Hopkins, and Natasha Richardson- to play Jance for the title. Colt has been close to victory before, but this time he finished the deal with a 222-192 win over Bailey for his first career JBT title.
Reagan Lorey captured the Girls Scratch side event by beating AJ Schock 222-195. Jake Mullen won another U17 event with a 212-196 win over Jennings. Boe's day was capped off with another $100 bonus for again hitting the "21" jackpot- no bizarre 5-count to do it this time, though.
Big thanks to the team at Narrows for another great job hosting us. Want in on all this fun for all ages and averages? Just check out our schedule and come on down!
