            Two Texans dueled it out north of Santa Fe, while one of our own Venus vs. Serena matches played out in handicap, in terrific JBT NM-TX Conference action at Pojoaque's Strike Gold Lanes.

         Daniel Hall began a sprint up the scratch stepladder with a 194-177 win over Angel Ortega.  He then got by Kellen Lavery 225-187 (but not before Lavery made it interesting with two 'endless tenth' strikes) to reach the title match.

        Top seed Zach Wojciechowski had been dominant for most of the day, and the dominance continued in the all-Lubbock finale, as Wojo was able to defeat Hall for the 5th title of his JBT career.

        Bernadette Davis began her second consecutive handicap finals with a 213-210 thriller.  This set up a match between the girlfriends of the Harvey brothers, won by Montana Cdebaca over Davis 228-222 in an excellent contest.  That in turn set up a rare battle of siblings for the title, as Montana's brother Toby had the top seed, gained in large part to a 289 scratch effort earlier.  In a low scoring contest, Montana came up with a 188-172 win, good for the second title of her JBT career. 

        Toby had to deal with two title match setbacks on the day, as Daniel Hall fired 257 to sweep the U17 weekend with a win over Cdebaca.  Lauren Jaramillo claimed her first Girls Scratch win with a 233-217 win over Aileen Linares.
