champs Sergio Torres & Justin Dormuth with U17 and Girls winners Cerell Cardines & Leah Glazer

        Sergio Torres and Justin Dormuth picked up JBT titles in exciting Mojave Conference action at Sam's Town Bowling Center.

         Cerell Cardines began the scratch division stepladder finals with a 221-171 win over Teagan Smale.  Cortez Schenck then stopped Cardines 248-213, and followed with a 237-202 win over Joe Gerencser to advance to the title game.

        Torres fired a big game five to squeeze into the cut, then blasted 745 in the semifinals to leap all the way into the lead.  Two missed 10-pins by Sergio gave Cortez a chance to steal away the title, but when Schenck couldn't get the first strike in the tenth, a relieved Torres claimed the second title of his JBT career with a 205-175 win.

        William Robbins opened the handicap division finals with a 228-190 win over Jasen Aguon.  Kaylee Am-Khong then beat Robbins 233-212, and followed with a 166-149 grindout over Sam Espiritu to advance to the title match,

        Top seed Justin Dormuth had taken over the lead in the second round, and bowled a confident game in the title match, cruising to a 204-166 win and his first career JBT title.

        Cardines won his second U17 event of the season with a 246-186 win over Cristian Roque, while Leah Glazer escaped by two pins over Kaylee Am-Khong for the day's girls scratch win.
