SPARE TIME LANES

champs Tommie McNeal & Seth Chilcutt with girls champ Bailey Peters

Dominant top seeds defended their positions with big wins, in exciting JBT Pacific Northwest Conference action at Kennewick's Spare Time Lanes.

Andy Herrmann began a climb up the scratch division stepladder finals with a 195-188 win over Ryan DeFazio, but it came at the cost of using his remaining 'mulligans'.  He didn't need them in the next matches though, getting by Jordan Jonker 222-141 and Brian DeLuisa-Anderson 235-200, to advance to the title match.

Top seed Tommie McNeal had one of the more dominant performances we've seen recently. He was the only bowler plus, and 152 pins clear of second, after qualifying, and cruised to the #1 spot from there.  Sometimes when you lead by that much by that long, it can be tough to re-focus for a title match, but Tommie showed no signs of that, blasting Herrmann 277-202, earning the third title of his JBT career.

Evan Smith went on an identical climb up the handicap stepladder finals, beginning with a 232-230 escape over Tyler Coates.  Evan, the 2016 TPC champ, then beat first time finalist Anna Strohl 237-198, and followed with a 208-193 win over Bradley Baltazar, to advance to the title game.

Seth Chilcutt enjoyed his best JBT result to date, at or near the top of the standings all day long.  He was just as good in the title match, stopping Smith's fine run with a 238-183 win, earning the first title of his JBT career.

Bailey Peters captured the day's girls scratch title with a 215-145 win over Kelsey Abrahamsen, while McNeal made it a double win on the day with a 189-185 squeaker over Brian DeLuisa-Anderson, having his best result since coming back from significant injury- yay!
