JBT's favorite after-hours event produced a diverse championship team, at the So Cal Baker Team Challenge, hosted by Montclair's Bowlium Lanes.
The team with the historic name and impressive resume, Dahdoul Textiles, roared to the #1 spot after 10 games of qualifying, but faltered in matchplay, upset by the "Fatastic 5" in round two. That group wasn't as fantastic in the semifinals, losing to an upstart Vista Entertainment Center team 2-0 in the semifinals. Vista's opponent for the title would be the "5-10s". The tenth and final team to qualify, they roared through matchplay, but had their hands full in the title match, which came down to the third and decisive game. They picked a good time to string strikes, as their combined 244-199 win earned them the title. It was the first each for Anthony Schanen, Ryan Lee, and Shane Howard, second for Brandon Wanders, and third for Nick Pollak.
