NOB HILL BOWL

champs Simon Dyck & Michael Strothman with runners up Makana Wong & James Henry; Girls winner Evan Smith & U17 winner Ethen Maxwell

Simon Dyck added more international flavor to the JBT winners circle, while Michael Strothman continued a hot fall, with wins in exciting JBT Pacific Northwest Conference action at Nob Hill Bowl in Yakima.

Dyck ran the scratch division stepladder finals, beginning with a 191-171 win over Kyle Jonson.  Simon then got past Hunter Bower 191-168 to reach the title match.  Top seed Makana Wong was brilliant all day and appeared ready to finally capture that first career title, but Dyck had other ideas, winning a close final game 205-197 for the first title of his JBT career.  JBT has had a number of Mexican bowlers win titles in our southern conferences, but Simon becomes the first Canadian JBT champ with his win!

Silas LeBlanc, already a winner this year at Acme, began the handicap finals with a 183-176 close win over Jessica Holbrook.  Scores went way up in the next match, as another JBT rookie, James Henry, edged LeBlanc in a 254-248 thriller to move on to the title game.

Strothman won the Future Champs event in August to springboard a fine start to the new season.  After leading since game three here, he found himself in a battle with Henry.  In the end, Michael had just enough for a 227-226 nailbiter win for his second career JBT title.

Ethen Maxwell captured his first U17 subdivision win with a 211-162 victory over Hunter Bower.  Evan Smith earned the day's Priority Girls Scratch win with a big 233-182 decision over Reagan Lorey.

Big thanks to the team at Nob Hill for another great job hosting our Tour.  Want in on all this fun?  Just check out our schedule and come on down!
