Deo Benard and Jayden Martinez captured JBT titles at the JBT Alumni evemt, hosted by Tenpins & More @ Rio Rancho.
Karl Kielich began the scratch division stepladder finals by ousting Harley Sweigart 237-207. Deo Benard then turned the tables on Kielich with a 248-217 win. Top seed DeeRonn Booker has been oh so close to a JBT win many times as both a youth and an adult, and it looked like the search would end here with a commanding performance. However, Benard caught a great roll and won a high quality match 257-236 for his 9th career JBT title.
Tyler Doucett fired a big game to win game one of the handicap finals 255-204 over Michael Jamael. Martinez then stopped Doucett to advance to the final game. Top seed Jordan Womble had passed by Jayden in the second round, but Martinez got his revenge here, beating Jordan for the title, the third of his JBT career.
Yarelis Alvarez won the day's Priority Girls Scratch event, winning a great match with Adel Wahner 240-233. Deo beat Jayden for the U17 win. Huge thanks to the team at Tenpins for their usual great hosting job. Comeon down and be a part of this!
