BOWLIUM LANES

champs Solomon Salama & Peter Ruiz with Justin Redfield & Katelyn Abigania

Solomon Salama remained red hot, while Peter Ruiz doubled his title total, in exciting JBT action at Montclair's Bowlium Lanes.

Harley Sweigart began the scratch division stepladder finals with a 246-223 win over Ricky Pollom.  Harley then threw the back five strikes to come from behind and shock Anthony Schanen 213-210.  Salama teamed with Sweigart to win the Doubles event the day before, but now were enemies on the lanes.  Salama dominated the qualifying round, and was just as untouchable in the finale, beating Harley 279-173 for his 16th career JBT title, and fourth in a row in Southern California.

Alexis Lee beat Lindsay Greim 213-199 to begin the handicap division stepladder finals.  In a close second round, Ruiz got past Lee 219-211. Top seed Justin Redfield was looking to break a long victory drought, but Ruiz came up with a good game on a tough pattern, winning 203-166 for his second career JBT title.

Solomon also won the U17 subdivision over Nolan Am-Khong, while Katelyn Abigania beat Jaclyn Azvedo for the Priority Girls Scratch win.  Big thanks as always to the team at Bowlium for hosting another fantastic tripleheader.  Check out our schedule and come on down to get in on all the fun!
