MIRA MESA LANES
champs Solomon Salama & Braeden Phillips; Gael Egana, Katelyn Abigania, Yael Salama
Solomon Sakana and Braeden Phillips earned JBT titles in exciting Southern California Conference action at San Diego's Mira Mesa Lanes.
Raeden Pimentel began the handicap division stepladder finals with a 220-174 win over fellow San Diegan Zian Sasaki. Braeden then won a rhyming match against Raeden 201-181. Top seed Yael Salama was looking to do her part in a Salama sweep on the day, but in a close match, Phillips came away with the win, and his second career JBT title.
Harley Sweigart has made an awful lot of finals, but probably bowled his lowest winning score here, outlasting Josh Abigania 157-148 in round one of the scratch finals. Harley did 70 pins better in his next match, but it still wasn't enough as Solomon Salama blasted 259 to get the final match. Top seed Gael Egana had been great all day, but Solomon was too much this time, winning the 13th title of his JBT career with the win.
Egana did beat Abigania for the U17 win, while Josh's sister Katelyn Abigania took Priority Girls Scratch with a win over Maikayla Villa.
Big thanks as always to the team at Mira Mesa for hosting us. To get in on the fun, just check out our schedule and come on down!
