PAC NW BAKER TEAM CHALLENGE
champs Chris Tuholski, Elijah Chin, Clayton Benham, Duncan Whitaker, Ashton Yamasaki
The Baker Team event is always one of our most fun events each year, and the 2021 edition was no different. The most decorated team on paper doesn't always win, as chemistrt and teamwork are huge parts of Baker bowling. That may have been the case this time however, as a powerhouse quintet claimed JBT titles in terrific action at Narrows Plaza Bowl.
The Oregon-based "#Sally Wong for MVP" team cruised to the lead after 10 qualifying games, and got through matchplay to bowl for the title. Their opponents, 'Team 28', were the only group to stay 'plus' all through qualifying, and stayed sneaky-good in matchplay to reach the finals. After splitting the first to games of the final, the top seeds dominated the rubber game, earning the tournament victory. It's JBT title 5 for Duncan Whitaker, a first for Elijah Chin and Clayton Benham, number 7 for Ashton Yamasaki, who swept the weekend with doubles partner Chris Tuholski, who claimed #8.
Big thanks to everyone for bowling, and Narrows for their usual seamless hosting job. To get in on the fun for all skill levels and ages, just come out to the next JBT tournament.
