KINGPINS BEAVERTON

champs & finalists

Danny Chalmers and Nicholas Propst kept their great runs going, in exciting ‘eliminator’ action at the beautiful Kingpins Beaverton.

After qualifying, lower overall totals were eliminated game by game until only the winner stood.  In scratch, sixteen qualifiers were caved down to four, and in that round Chalmers and Henry Hind extended their leads to advance to the final.  The ensuing title match was well bowled by both, but some late misses on the right lane by Henry was the difference.   Chalmers’ tenth frame strike locked up the eleventh title of the two-time defending Bowler of the Year’s career.

Twenty-three handicap survivors were whittled down to four, and while Carsten Rogers’ good game ousted Chelsea Ravenell and Malakai Bachteler, he was still looking up at Nicholas Propst, who again led the field.  The title match was even through six frames, but Nicholas pulled away on the back half, eventually cruising for his third consecutive JBT title- a feat that we can only find happening once before in the handicap division (Scott Carnahan, 1999)- wow!

Piper Chalmers blasted 279 for a Girls Scratch win over previous day’s champ MacKenzi Clark, while Caiden Christensen earned his first U17 subdivision win with a victory over Jacob San Juan (whose earlier 279 tied Piper for the day’s high game).

Giant thanks to the team at Kingpins for their usual smooth and attentive hosting job.   Want in on all the fun?  Check out our schedule and email us to reserve your spots today!
