champs Katelyn Abigania, Christian Ortega, Channing Lawrence, and Brandon Rother

Brandon Rother of San Diego and Channing Lawrence of Las Vegas earned JBT’s most prestigious titles, winning the scratch and handicap divisions of the 23^rd annual Junior Bowlers Tour’s Touring Players’ Championship, held at Strike Zone in Henderson NV.

Gavin Fernandez of Las Vegas began the scratch division stepladder finals with an exciting 203-199 win over Dylan Ingram of Moorpark, CA. Rother then defeated Fernandez to move on to the championship match. Fifteen year-old Christian Ortega earned the top seed in a fantastic performance, and engaged in a back and forth match with Brandon on the challenging condition with the TPC at stake. After Rother came up with the tenth frame double, Christian needed to strike out to tie. When his first attempt came up high, Brandon claimed the 202-190 win, and 23^rd title to also wrap up All-Conference Bowler of the year. Rother earned $3,000 for the win, while Ortega, a fast rising star sure to win his first soon, added $1,600 to his career winnings.

An all-female handicap division stepladder began with Ella Schaffner of Silverton, OR beating Las Vegas’ Jaina Lilly. Lawrence then took over, stopping Ella to reach the title match.

Top seed Chelsea Ravenell of Spanaway, WA bowled brilliantly in a close race for the finals to nab the #1 spot. She struggled in the title match however, and Lawrence was able to pull away for the title. It capped a heck of a run for her- she was outside the Mojave Invite cut line going into the final regular season event, squeezed into the Invite, won that event, then finished it off with this command performance here. The win was also good for $3,000, while Ravenell pocketed the $1,600 runner-up windfall.

Three of JBT’s most decorated girls comprised the Girls Scratch finals. Katelyn Abignaia beat Kendall Bollea- whose impressive total would have led open scratch qualifying- in game one to advance to the final against fellow Vanderbilt bowler (to be) Lindsay Greim. The final was all Katelyn, as our all-time JBT female GOAT (and newly minted world champion) added the 82^nd girls scratch title of her JBT career with the victory.

Gage Baker defeated Gyrus Alo 226-209 to set up the U17 title match, which turned out to be a whopper against Ortega. On the tough Autobahn pattern, both players put on a show, but a trip-2 late and flush turkey at the end keyed a 257-237 win for Christian. The $400 top prize boosted him up to $2,000 for about an hour’s worth of bowling!

$29,074 in total scholarships were earned by the 183 bowler field, all of who earned their way in by being in the top 20 in one of the five JBT conferences, or the top 120 in overall JBT points. Giant thanks to IAM Bowling and the Brands of Brunswick, our title sponsors, as well as the many year-round event sponsors, great vendors, and amazing host centers, for making these large funds possible.

Of course, the biggest thanks is to the bowlers and families that fit TPC into their busy summer schedules- there is no TPC, or JBT, without you. It all starts over in August, as you’re all back to zero points and season 31 kicks off another exciting year of JBT action for all ages and skill levels- check out our website and see you there!

Thursday July 23: (all Thursday events are open to anyone 21 & under, not just TPC qualifiers!)

POINTS: The only points awarded are the finishing points to the top 25, which are quadrupled. So, 1st = 400, 2nd = 320, etc.

PLEASE NOTE: Because this is an off-site banquet facility, we need the full names of everyone attending. Reservations are binding- if you cancel and we cannot fill the seat, we unfortunately must charge for that seat. Contact us with questions.

All bowlers age 21 and under as of 8/1/25 may bowl the Wednesday and Thursday events, but the TPC itself is open to the following bowlers:

Bowlers who finish in the top 20 (plus ties) of an Individual Conference’s point list after the Invitationals.

Bowlers who finish on the top 120 (plus ties) of the All-Conference points list as of the final Invitational.

- All bowlers must bowl BOTH the Friday and Saturday qualifying round, including bowlers who earned an ‘exemption’ by finishing in the top 12 (plus ties) of the All-Conference point list as of 7/1/26. Exempt bowlers missing the cut to Sunday’s bowling will still qualify for Sunday, and begin with total pinfall equal to the cut score.

· There are two divisions, scratch and handicap. Bowlers can choose to compete in either division. Handicap division bowlers receive 90% of 200 in all rounds.

· The entry fee is $150. $3,000 is the guaranteed first place scholarship prize per division.

· Any eligible bowler may bowl, though prepayment and/or notification of plans to enter will help us run an efficient tournament.

· · DRESS / BEHAVIOR: COLLARED SHIRTS OR BOWLING T-SHIRTS, AND EITHER SLACKS OR SHORTS OF A KHAKI MATERIAL, OR NEAT, LONG JEANS, ARE REQUIRED (for Fri. thru Sun.). Skirts / skorts are acceptable. No tank tops, or clothing deemed offensive by the tournament director are allowed. Bowlers not conforming to dress code will not be allowed to bowl the quarterfinal round, without exception. There is to be no smoking during the tournament on or directly behind tournament lanes. Bowlers may not smoke or drink during competition. ANY DISPLAY OF FOUL LANGUAGE OR ABUSING EQUIPMENT will result in 1) warning, and/ or 2) penalization of JBT points, and/or 3) disqualification, subject to the sole discretion of the tournament directors. See our expanded rules sheet or any JBT official for more on this policy. Yes, we’ll even disqualify you at the TPC. Dress code will be strictly enforced.

· AVERAGES: Bowlers will use their finishing 25-26 JBT average, 30+ games (Fri-Sun). Bowlers with less than 30 games must use 200 or bowl scratch. Tournament management reserves all rights to further re-rate averages as deemed fit prior to the start of the event per JBT rule 13.

· All rules not specifically covered will follow the JBT / USBC rulebook. The tournament director reserves all rights. Expanded rules are available at all JBT sites, and on the website.
