STRIKE ZONE at SUNSET STATION

champs Andy Reynoso & Merrill Hill

JBT history was made at Sunset Station's Strike Zone, as Andy Reynoso and Merrill Hill won titles in exciting Mojave Conference action.

The scratch division finals was all about Andy's brother Adam prior to the title match.  He won round one with a 213-202 decision over points leader Nathan Panaligan.  Adam followed with a 257-179 win over Jeremy Almoina, and reached the final with a 216-156 win over Justin Spurrier.

Top seed Adam Reynoso earned that position with a perfect 300 in game eight, and Adam's ladder climbing set up the first title match between siblings in our 375 tournament history!  The good natured battle ended in a win for Andy, good for his first career JBT title.

Kyle Brdigman opened up the handicap finals with a 229-218 win over Jenna Graydon.  The next match against Shane Delullo was a thriller that ended in a 224 tie.  Kyle came through in the rolloff 104-69 to advance, and rode the momentum to a 262-205 semifinal win over Kris Del Campo to reach the title match.

Top qualifier Merrill Hill came oh-so-close to victory in April at The Orleans, and was not to be denied this time.  He defeated Bridgman 244-198 to warp up the first title of his JBT career.

Everyone who finished in the top 5 qualifies for the 2006 JBT SW Mojave Invitational Tournament, the regular season's year end event, featuring a guaranteed minimum $1,000 first place scholarship in each division.  Top season-long point scorers also qualify for the 2006 JBT SW Touring Players' Championship, featuring a guaranteed minimum $2,000 first place scholarship per division!

Thanks to everyone at Strike Zone for hosting the event, especially GM Richard Peters, who was there from start to finish . 73 entrants shared in over $1,600 in scholarships awarded.  Please continue to help spread the word about the terrific benefits of bowling JBT SW events!
