TOWER LANES

champs Cameron Weier and Michael Eaton

Cameron Weier and Michael Eaton captured their first JBT titles in exciting Pacific Northwest Conference action at Tower Lanes.

Rob Edwards, who hasn't missed the top 5 in a singles event, opened the stepladder finals with a 245-154 win over Sam Neves.  Jake Klemsen then defeated Edwards in a thriller, 255-247, before Weier stopped him in the semifinals, 207-178, to reach the finals.

Top seed Dean Richards has been a dominant force early in Pac NW play, but had yet to break through for a win.  Both bowlers struggled through the finale, but in the end Weier added to Richards' title match woes with a 186-174 victory, good for his first career JBT title.

Brandon Nylund won round one of the handicap stepladder finals with a 243-203 decision over Zach Hemming.  Brett Hall then stopped Nylund 187-179, then rolled on with a 237-202 triumph over Larry Beausoliel to reach the title match.

Top seed Michael Eaton had captured the lead by over fifty pins after eight games, and kept rolling in the title match with a commanding 265-191 win over Hall, good for his first career JBT title.

Sam Burns thrilled the crowd by coming oh-so-close to hitting the PowerBowl jackpot, missing by one pin on his final shot.  Despite the great effort (for which he received $50), PowerBowl continues to grow!

47 bowlers competed in the event, and over $1,300 in scholarships were awarded.  We hope everyone who attended had a great time, and will spread the word about the great benefits of bowling JBT.   Everyone who finished in the top 5 qualifies for the 2007 JBT Pacific Northwest  Invitational Tournament, the regular season's year end event, featuring a guaranteed minimum $1,000 first place scholarship in each division.  Top season-long point scorers also qualify for the 2007 JBT Touring Players' Championship, featuring a guaranteed minimum $2,000 first place scholarship per division!

Big thanks to everyone at Tower for hosting our event.  Want in on the fun?  Come on out to the next JBT event, it's as simple as that!
