BIG ROCK CASINO

champs Stephen Gaucin and Zach Prince

Stephen Gaucin claimed a landmark victory, while Zach Prince tasted JBT victory for the first time, in exciting JBT action at Big Rock Casino.

Greg Garbera opened the scratch division of the stepladder finals with a 216-185 win over Nicholas Muller.  Gaucin then defeated Garbera in an exciting match, 239-225.  He then followed with a lower scoring but equally thrilling win, 183-181 over Chris Pierson, to advance to the title match.

Top seed Andy Byer continued his season-long excellence by again gaining the top seed, and was desperate to end the statistical anomaly of not earning a win yet this season.  Gaucin wanted no part of that, however, as he got out to a hot start and easily defeated Byer 237-181 for his 10th career JBT title, becoming only the 15th bowler in JBT history to get into double-digit title territory.

The always entertaining Peter Cane opened the stepladder finals of the handicap event with a 218-209 win over Debbie Read, who is having a fine spring on Tour.  Elizabeth Romero then defeated Cane, 229-167, before prince stopped Romero, 253-227, to reach the title match.

Top seed Kyle Pearce enjoyed his best JBt event ever en route to the number one spot, but ran into a freight train in Prince, who rolled a huge game to defeat Kyle 271-220 for his first career JBT title.

Dan Romero beat a 16-bowler field to win the Big Rock Scratch Challenge, held before the regular event.   He defeated Nathan Shock 246-242 for the title and a $150 bonus scholarship.  Greg Garbera tossed a 300 game in round one of the event.

Thanks to the whole crew at Big Rock for another great job hosting our Tour.  Over $1,600 was awarded at the event- want in on the fun?  Come on down to the next JBT event, it's as simple as that!
