Corben Ettledorf and Travis McAllister each showed fine form in capturing JBT titles in exciting Pacific Northwest Conference action at AMF Imperial Lanes.
Cameron Weier, who won earlier this year in Milwaukie, opened up the scratch division stepladder finals with a 226-180 over first time finalist Brandon Dunson. Weier then rolled on, defeating Marshall Kent 200-171, before Ettledorf won the semifinal match 217-198 over Weier.
Top seed Tyler Cruz bowled 7 out of 8 games over 200 on a pretty tricky lane condition to grab the top seed for the first time in his career, but it was Etteldorf, also in a title match for the first time, who showed the top form, running the front five strikes en route to a 247-193 win and his first JBT title.
Brittany Arndt, also a winner at Milwaukie this year, won round one of the handicap division stepladder finals 258-190 over Krissy Nagasawa. Cody Nelson then came on to beat Arndt 197-181, before McAllister outlasted Nelson, his good friend, in a 236-209 semifinal victory.
Top seed DreVaughn Dorsey opened his first JBT event with a 177 game that was 50 pins over his average, helping him nab the top seed. However, it was McAllister, with title match experience, who showed all the momentum, ending up with a 227-191 win and his second career JBT title, having won last season's handicap Invitational.
