Two lefties at opposite ends of their JBT careers captured titles in exciting NM-TX Conference action at Albuquerque's Silva Lanes.

Chris Pierson, visiting from Wisconsin while working the USBC National tournament, opened up the scratch division of the stepladder finals with a 245-184 win over Justin Medina.  Pierson then got by all-conference points leader Kyle King 213-204, and followed with a big 256-171 win over Justin Silva to reach the title match.

Top qualifier BJ Baker had won the previous weekend in Arizona, and showed no signs of letting up in a new state for the new weekend, dominating the qualifiying rounds, and defeating the hard-charging Pierson 248-221 for his 28th career JBT title, second on our all-time victory list.

Jacob Gill opened up the handicap division stepladder finals with a 236 game that beat Austin Mansfield (189) and Billy Read (187).  Gill stayed strong in match two, firing a 217 that beat Sabrina Vargas (178) and Marcos Armijo (190).  A higher scoring semifinal still saw Gill leading the pack, as his 241 beat Josh Helmick (212) and D'Angelo Westbrook (227), to advance to his first title match.

Top qualifier Jonah Seawright had knocked on the door of his first JBT title before, but this time he slammed through that door, beating Gill 224-188 for the long awaited victory.
