    BJ Baker and Eddie Sayles captured victories in the first event of the 12^th season of JBT competition in Southern California Conference action at Yorba Linda Bowl.    

    Kris George, fresh off his Desert Open win, opened the scratch division stepladder finals with a 212-169 win over Alex Horst.  Alyse McGinnes, the 2005 Main Event champ, then defeated George, 170-159, and followed with a 174-144 win over 11-time champ Theo Douthit to reach the title match.

      Top seed Baker was the only bowler to average over 200 on the extremely demanding lane conditions, and the veteran JBT star continued his dominance in the title match, winning 223-191 for his 22^nd career victory.

      Mojave Conference Rookie of the Year Donovan Koff opened the handicap stepladder with a 179-174 win over Christina Fraijo.  Sayles then took over, beating Koff 216-181, and following with a 228-201 win over always-exciting Wesley Low to reach the title match.

      Top seed Jenny Phandanouvong continued the roll she’s been on since late spring, which included a TPC win, by leading this event.  However, Sayles was able to make up the handicap difference while Jenny struggled, and Eddie won 203-181 for his first career JBT title.
