AMF IMPERIAL LANES

champs Lucas Stone and Raiden Silva

Lucas Stone and Raiden Silva opened the 3rd season of JBT Pacific Northwest Conference action with exciting victories at AMF Imperial.

Chris Kirk opened the scratch division stepladder with the first seven strikes en route to a 276-178 win over Daniel Carroll.  Nick Stone then cooled off Kirk 234-181, before Tyler Cruz prevented an all-Stone title match with a 236-216 win over Nick to reach his second straight title game at Imperial.

Top seed Lucas Stone dominated the event all day long, but fell in a big hole by starting with two opens against Cruz's five-bagger.  However, the second half of the game was the complete reverse, with Stone throwing six of his final seven shots for strikes to finish at 216, forcing Cruz to double for the win.  A ringing 10-pin denied Tyler on his first shot, giving the relieved Stone his first career JBT title.

Maximillian Polhill made his first finals appearance a success with a 201-184 win over Ronnie Goodman to open up the handicap stepladder.  Kevin Harja then stopped Polhill 223-212, before Thomas Nute came on to beat Harja 214-183, advancing Nute to his first title match.

Top seed Raiden Silva had traded the lead with Nute throughout the day, and they did the same in the title match, as each gained and lost momentum several times.  Silva just barely converted an 8-pin in the tenth, forcing Nute to double in the tenth to win.  When Thomas was unable to strike on his first shot, Silva claimed his first career JBT title.

Katie Beismann became the latest JBT Women's Series champ, defeating Sarah Boe 153-147 in the title match, earning her the title and a chance at bonus prizes at the 2009 Girls' Invitational.

Thanks as always to everyone at Imperial for hosting us.  Over $1,300 in scholarships were awarded- want in on the fun?  Come on down to the next JBT event, it's as simple as that!
