       Kyle King and Kirk Chui captured JBT titles in exciting Southern California Conference action at Vista Recreation Center.

      First time finalist Patrick Smith and Joey Chuo opened up the stepladder finals in the scratch division with a 191 tie, forcing a one-ball rolloff which Chuo won 10-9.  Chuo took the momentum from that match and beat Chris Fore, who led the first round averaging nearly 250, 228-151.  The semifinal was a nailbiter, as King threw all three in the tenth to shut out Chuo 237-236, to advance to yet another title match.

     Top seed Matt  Jones was looking to redeem himself from a frustrating runner-up finish in Vegas last weekend, but instead it was deja vu all over again for him, as early splits doomed Jones from the start.  Kyle cruised to a 236-194 win, and the 21st title of his career.  The victory also pushed him over the $25,000 mark in career JBT earnings, only the third bowler ever, and by far the youngest, to accomplish that lucrative feat.

    Robert Lim opened up the handicap division stepladder finals with a 222-194 win over first time finalist Alex van Es.  It was then all-Chui all the time, defeating Lim 229-210, and following with a 227-197 over John Wright to reach the title match.

   Top seed Anthony Cando was the next one in a crowd of Admiral Robinson bowlers to have great JBT success, grabbing the #1-seed for this event.  However, Kirk, who hadn't won in over a year, was too tough in the finale, beating Anthony 237-223 in the deciding game for his second career title.
