Two Arizonans invaded California with successful results in JBT SW action at AMF Arrowhead.

Steven Black climbed the scratch division stepladder for his 28th career title.  He began by stringing the last five for a 225-210 win over Shelby Shirlock.  Black then got by the tough Brian Carmichael 221-192, before rolling past Kevin Valmonte 235-192 to reach the title match.

Top qualifier Theo Douthit had been at or near the top of the field all day, and he and Steven had faced off two weeks earlier at Cactus Bowl.  This time, Steven left no doubt of the result by stringing the first six strikes.  In the end, Black claimed a 255-202 victory for his second title of the season.

In the handicap division, first-time finalist Bianca Taylor just got by Kaitlin Mayall, the only bowler to have made both So Cal stepladders this year, 207-200. In round two, Balbos defeated Miss Taylor 200-178.  Balbos then goy by Savannah Guerrero 220-195, to reach his first title match in over six months.

Top qualifier Foster Phandanouvong had just grabbed the lead from Guerrero in game seven, but had his momentum stopped by three early missed spares.  Another late 9-count sealed the deal, and Balbos claimed his second career title with the 199-183 win.
