2023 JBT Las Vegas Main Event- Girls Scratch Singles

         In a battle of the most recent two champs, Katelyn Abigania of San Diego defeated Vanessa Fuzie to capture the girls scratch singles division of the 2023 JBT Las Vegas Main Event, hosted and sponsored by the South Point Bowling Plaza.

        Lindsay Greim continued her rapid improvement with a win over Kelcey Aczon-Kawamura to begin the bracket-style stepladder finals.  In simultaneous action, Avery Domaguin beat Kendall Bollea in a battle of JBT season-long stars.   The top seeds then defended their ranking, with Fuzie stopping Greim, and in yet another annual Main Event battle, Abigania beat Domaguin to set up the dream title match.

        Katelyn started the title match fast, giving the powerful Fuzie no chance to recover, and by the late frames was able to cruise to the win.  This sets all kinds of records for Katelyn.  She joins Wesley Low (2014-15) as the only back to back Main Event singles champs.  She joins Solomon Salama and Brent Bowers as the only bowlers with multiple singles titles.  And with this, her tenth career JBT title, she ties Bryanna Cote (Caldwell) as the winningest female in our 28 year history- all this still as a high school junior!
